Lin was born in Craig, Colorado and grew up in several Wyoming communities. She graduated from Cody High School and briefly attended the University of Wyoming. Lin began painting while living on the TTT Ranch, owned by the Sanford family in Kaycee, Wyoming. Buffalo eventually became her home where she and Norman Lee Sanford raised their three children; Skye, Sadie, and Lee. After a 20 year career with NetJets Aviation, a fractional ownership jet company, Lin returned to her Wyoming home in Buffalo. In her travels she took every opportunity to study architecture and design as well as the work of many indigenous artists. Traveling has given her a unique opportunity to study art in galleries and museums all over the world, as well as meeting with artisans along the way. This motivated her to try out different painting techniques and became a therapeutic way of grounding herself post-flight. Her continuing “Future Fliers” series as well as recent mixed media paintings add to Lin’s colorful and reflective works of art. Her work can be viewed on Instagram: @pourtraitsbylin.
