Lynn Munns
Casper, Wyoming potter Lynn Munns grew up on a ranch near Virginia City, Montana, and began making pottery as a child. He started with pinch pots and his love for clay blossomed into a full-time career as a potter and teacher. He taught ceramics at Casper College from 1971-2006, served ten years on the Wyoming Arts Council Board as a board member of the Nicolaysen Art Museum, the Wyoming Advocates for Cultural Development, the Western States Arts Foundation, the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies, and the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as heading the art department at Casper College. His work can be described as quietly functional with strong form and durability. Now, besides teaching workshops across the country, he continues to work with clay and enrich Casper’s Fine Arts community.
