A stamped leaf charm and wrapped pearl hand from a hammered oxidized silver ring. The chain is delicately set with little rubies. This necklace is sweet, delicate, and a fun twist on a charm necklace. Chain measures 17-18” with lobster clasp and adjustable length chain closure. Sterling silver, which has been oxidized and hand polished for an antique finish.
About Rubies: The birthstone for July, the ruby is the red variety of the mineral corundum. Historically, it has symbolized love and passion, considered an aid to firm friendship, and believed to ensure beauty. It can range in color from purplish or bluish-red to a yellowish red, but the finest color is a vivid, almost pure spectral red with a very faint undertone of blue, which is considered the finest. The ruby is a very brilliant stone and is also a very hard, durable, and wearable stone.
About pearls: Throughout history, the pearl, with its warm inner glow and shimmering iridescence, has been one of the most highly prized and sought after gems. In ancient Rome, pearls were considered the ultimate symbol of wealth and social standing. What is a cultured pearl? An oyster or mollusk is artificially “seeded” with a tiny grain of sand or other object. The mollusk then excretes a coating to protect itself from the irritant. Several layers are accreted, creating a real pearl.
