We can’t complain about this summer. We’ve had lots of rain and not too much heat, but I love the phrase “the dog days of summer”, so I’m using it. We’ve had so many wonderful customers here from around the world . The last person I waited on was from Italy, and I’m so impressed with these people’s ability to speak English to us, plus it is a bonus to listen to beautiful accents. We have had Brazilians, Argentinians, people from New Zealand, Australia, a lot of English and French people, and some Chinese. We’ve also had a lot of people from the southern US and the Midwest and all their different accents as well, so that sometimes I have to listen carefully to know what people are saying. Buffalo is a friendly and beautiful town, so most of our tourists are delighted to be here. Then the dogs! We had the most beautiful dog from Kearney Nebraska in the store yesterday. He would splay out his back legs and scoot around his front in a calorie saving gesture, and a perfect pivot. His eyes looked like they were surrounded by a rich brown eyeliner. This is the kind of joy we get in the store everyday. I’m putting some photos from the store below. We have this wonderful wire shelf that just says “YES” and that’s the way we feel about our customers. We have lots of funny oven mitts including the one below. I also put in a couple of photos of favorite jewelry of mine in the store. The necklace is an ode to luck and we are the luckiest people in the world to be able to interact with the people we see everyday. Thank you all.
